Create an Organization
Every provider on General Wisdom operates under an organization. Your organization is the billing entity, the owner of applications, and the container for your team's access.
Prerequisites
- A General Wisdom account (sign up at platform.generalwisdom.com)
- A verified email address
Step 1: Create Your Organization
- Log in to the General Wisdom platform.
- Navigate to Settings > Organizations in the left sidebar.
- Click Create Organization.
- Fill in the required fields:
| Field | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Organization Name | Your company or team name | Acme Intelligence |
| Slug | URL-safe identifier (auto-generated, editable) | acme-intelligence |
| Website | Your company website | https://acmeintel.com |
| Description | Brief description of what you do | OSINT tools for corporate due diligence |
- Click Create to finalize.
Choose your organization slug carefully. It appears in URLs and API references and cannot be changed after creation.
Step 2: Configure Organization Settings
After creation, configure your organization profile:
- Navigate to Settings > Organizations > [Your Org].
- Upload a logo (recommended: 256x256px PNG with transparent background).
- Add a support email address that your users can reach you at.
- Set your organization's timezone for reporting.
Step 3: Invite Team Members
You can invite additional team members to help manage applications and review analytics.
- Navigate to Settings > Organizations > [Your Org] > Members.
- Click Invite Member.
- Enter the email address of the person you want to invite.
- Select a role (see below).
- Click Send Invite.
The invitee receives an email with a link to join your organization. They must have a General Wisdom account (or will be prompted to create one).
Organization Roles
| Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
| Owner | Full access. Manage billing, members, applications, and settings. Transfer ownership. |
| Admin | Manage applications, members (except Owner), and view billing. Cannot transfer ownership or delete the org. |
| Developer | Create and manage applications, view analytics. Cannot manage members or billing. |
| Viewer | Read-only access to analytics and application status. Cannot modify anything. |
Every organization must have exactly one Owner. To transfer ownership, the current Owner must explicitly assign the Owner role to another member.
Step 4: Verify Your Provider Status
Before you can list applications on the marketplace, your organization must be verified as a provider:
- Navigate to Settings > Organizations > [Your Org] > Provider Status.
- Click Apply for Provider Access.
- Provide the requested information:
- A brief description of the application(s) you plan to list
- Your company's legal name and address
- A link to your privacy policy
- Submit the application.
Provider verification is typically completed within 1-2 business days. You will receive an email notification when approved.
Managing Multiple Organizations
You can belong to multiple organizations and switch between them:
- Click the organization name in the top-left corner of the navigation.
- Select the organization you want to work with from the dropdown.
Each organization has its own applications, billing, and team members.
